Azar al-Misri was a swinging party girl. She lived for nothing but herself. During an archaeological dig with her father, they were attacked by mercenaries. Azar hid herself, and after they had left found she was the only survivor. Looking through the rubble she found a small jewel the mercenaries must have left behind. Upon picking it up she was confronted with a demonic blue blaze. It spoke, telling her she had been chosen to become the next avatar of Dark Flame. Granted immense fire controlling powers, Azar flew back home and continued her extravagant lifestyle, eventually hooking up with two other super powered criminals to form The Sisterhood of Liberation.
