Calamity was born to a famous Hollywood family. The pregnancy was uneventful, but when she came out with red skin and white hair they thought something was up. Discovering her strange colouring had actually been the result of a certain prosthetics and body makeup her mother had used during the filming of her last movie, Calamity's parents began to boycott the company. On the other hand, her strange looks and plucky attitude made Calamity the talk of the town. She became a pre-teen idol for a time. Eventually, however, the celebrity life grew tiresome. She fell in with the goth crowds and started practicing the art of black magic, actually becoming somewhat adept, unlike the rest of the poser chumps she hung out with. Eventually though, she grew out of that phase too, and became enamoured with superheroes. These people had strange powers and bright costumes that attracted her eccentric tastes.
